witnessing Greetings my friend in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who according to Luke 19:10 "... has come to seek and save that which is lost." There are many scriptures that could be used for the very mission of our Lord Jesus. I like this one because it should give us all an idea of what the church's priority should be. Jesus, came to seek and save that which is lost. We know He was successful in that, because he died, was buried and rose again the third day. If your a Christian you have received this very precious gift of eternal life found only in Him. What should we do with a great gift? I believe we are called to give it away. We have proof of that in the scriptures. Mark 16:15 "and He said to them, Go into all the world and preach (proclaim) the gospel to every creature." Notice, the Lord said this to His disciples. A Christian is automatically a disciple of Christ. He also said GO into all the world. We as Christians must do our part to see to it that the gospel is going forward into all the world. Lastly, He said to proclaim the good news to EVERYBODY." No exceptions. The question is, are you being obedient? Here is another Scripture that should be reassuring to all of us. Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit is come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in both Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth." Jesus promised to His disciples that God would give them the Holy Spirit, which would empower them. The specific purpose would be, to be HIS Witnesses. You might be saying, I want to be a witness but I get fearful. That's good. Your in good company. Look at what Pauls says 1 Cor. 2: 1-4 "And I, brethren when I came to you, came not in excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God. Fori I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and much tembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power." Paul, had the same problem. But it didn't stop him. Why? He loved Christ and as he said in 2 Cor. 5:11 "Knowing, therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men..." Why do people need Jesus? They need Him to deliver them from the penalty of sin. They need Him, because God has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness. They need Him to avoid the wrath to come. My friend thank you for taking the time to read this.
