Fellowship and ministry survey
There will be a survey going around today in regards to fellowship and ministry at the Lighthouse. Please take time to fill these out. You don't need to put down your names, just your input. Thanks.
Corn Palace Festival Outreach
There will be a meeting and informal training for the Corn Palace Festival Outreach after church on Sunday, August 22. There will be food and refreshments. We need all the help we can get. If you can volunteer for a period of time during this outreach it would be much appreciated. This is a great way to fellowship with other believers, grow in your faith and be used of God in the harvest fields.
Baptism Service
Baptism service is August 15 10:00 a.m. at Buyranek's beach. This will be a potluck. Also, because of water activities please dress modestly-one piece or tankini or shirt covering-thank you.
OPERATION SHOEBOX 2010
The shoeboxes for Guatemala are due on August 15. This is a wonderful opportunity to bless the children in Central America not only at Christmas but also eternally as they are given an invitation to receive Jesus as their Savior. You may fill boxes or give a financial gift that will be used to fill boxes. Any checks should be written out to the Tom Vander Pol Memorial Fund by August 1. Thank you for being willing to give to the children in Jesus' name!
AWANA
There will be an Awana informational meeting Wednesday, August 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the church. If you are planning or considering helping in anyway, please plan to attend. If this date does not work for you, forgive us as with summer and the busyness of people's schedule we had to set a date in hopes that most could schedule to come.
Church Library
We have started a library in one of the classrooms (2nd one on East side). If you would like to check out books or DVD's there is a sheet and you can fill in the information. We only ask it is returned in a timely manner. Thanks.
Chamberlain Academy
There will be a group going this afternoon.
Upcoming dates: Oct. 10, Dec. 19. Anyone interested in ministering or sharing testimonies please let Pastor Jon know.
Corn Palace Days
We will have a booth during Corn Palace Days in Mitchell- August 25-28th. We will need people to hand out water, tracts, pray, share, etc. Please be in prayer about this as well as if anyone has any ideas please let us know.
2nd annual Bible Bee
Dakota Christian School, Corsica, SD, will be hosting the 2nd annual Bible Bee to be held on Saturday, August 28! All students 7 through 18 years old are invited to participate. Top 100 contestants nationally in each age division are then invited to compete in the National Bible Bee on November 11-13 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
